Wallifornia is in less than 50 days. New speakers announced !

We have launched our very first newsletter containing everything you need to know and all updates on the Wallifornia MusicTech 2019! We have some very exciting news in the form of the first wave of speakers to announce to you! Here they are:

Yvan Boudillet: Yvan Boudillet is a Digital Entertainment Expert with over ten years experience in leading digital development and consumer strategy for EMI and Warner Music in France. As the Founder of the advisory agency TheLynk and the Entertainment Lead at Startup Sesame, Yvan connects the dots between startups and creative industries.

Robin Hoffman: Robin is a music enthusiast at heart with an extensive know-how of the music industry topped by an appreciation of communication design applied to marketing strategies of global brands. In 2004, he co-founded HearDis! together with Felix Haaksman and secured enduring relationships with high end clients, such as Hugo Boss, Mercedes-Benz, Vitra, Porsche Design and more. A multifaceted expert, Robin is a versatile leader able to promptly foresee and adapt to industry trends: Robin framed the genesis of EU-funded R&D project ABC_DJ and currently devises novel business ideas that implement the project’s groundbreaking tools in order to elevate audio branding standards.

Pascal Viot: Pascal Viot is a sociologist (PhD) and an expert in the field of risk analysis, urban safety and crowd management, also active in the event safety management since 1992. After 15 years of collaboration as volunteer, Pascal Viot is Head of Department Heath, Safety & Security at Paleo Festival Nyon since 2006. As a researcher, he has lead  between 2006 and 2009 a collective research at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) on the Security of Major Events, including the case study of the Euro 2008 in Geneva. Between 2013 and 2016, he has been running a research with Prof. Olivier Fillieule at the University of Lausanne on public order management and policing of major gatherings. He is now Associate researcher at the Urban Sociology Laboratory at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Since 2008, he is also a steering committee member of the Yourope Event Safety Group. In 2016, he created iSSUE, the Swiss Institut for Urban and Event Safety

Chris Howard: From humble beginnings, Chris went from high school flunk to MIT Scientist and Harvard Professor by following one piece of advice: “don’t focus on working – focus on learning”. Since then, Chris has co-founded 6 companies, supported hundreds of artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives, and now leads the ‘MIT for music’, The Rattle, in East London.

The program is looking great so far! Here’s a short recap of what we are preparing for this year’s edition of the Wallifornia MusicTech:

Acceleration program: 10 start-ups will get the chance to spend a week growing their business with the help of industry trained coaches and mentors in order to present their pitch to investors by the end of the week.

24H Hackathon: Programers, music professionals and passionates will get the opportunity to spend 24h with like minded music-tech enthusiasts in order to develop new concepts to push the boundaries of creativity within this industry.

Investor’s summit: Investors will get the chance to discuss the future of the music industry with qualified industry professionals from all over the world, they will also get the opportunity to meet face to face with new and exciting start-ups in music-tech.

Start-up pitch competition: Start-ups will take part in a pitch competition in front of a panel of judges with amazing prizes on the line!

The Wallifornia Park: Start-ups will get the opportunity to showcase their product and company to the 100 000+ festival goers of Les Ardentes!
