Ventura Barba
Ventura Barba is the CEO and partner of Advanced Music, the organizing company of Sónar and Sónar + D among other different activities. Ventura holds a degree in law from the University of Barcelona and has an MBA from the Autonomous University of Madrid. From 2008 until 2014, Ventura was the president of the consulting company Tenzing Media, a business development company specialized in the field of creative industries, as well as director of the Postgraduate in Management of Companies of the Music Industries at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Ventura worked for Yahoo! from January 2000 to 2009. Until 2002 he was the General Secretary of Yahoo! Spain and from June 2003 to June 2007 he was the director of the Department of Legal Affairs and Business of Yahoo! International Music. In June 2007 he was promoted to the position of General Manager of Yahoo! Music Europe and Canada. Previously, he worked for BMG Music Spain and Portugal, as Director of the Legal & Business Affairs. Before that, he worked as a lawyer at Enrich Law Firm, where he was head of the Department of New Technologies and entertainment. He also worked at the Collecting Society of Authors of Spain (SGAE) and in the film industry in Los Angeles (CA). In the academic sector, he is a co-founder and member of the academic board of the Institute for Internet Development (ISDI) as well as a mentor of the IMPACT accelerator.
