July 2-3, 2019

Where:

Liege, Belgium
?

Hackathon 101

Hackathons are competitive innovation creation events that usually run for 24 hours

Multi-disciplined teams working with cutting-edge technology

Teams use APIs + hackable tech to build a working prototype within the allotted time

Hackers can join or form a team around their idea, or come with a team they recruit beforehand

Hackathon begins with idea pitches, where each team leader announces their idea and asks hackers to join their team based on required skill sets

Sponsors present their newest technology and APIs to the hackers, who use featured tech to come up with new projects using sponsor’s technology

Concludes with demos of the new hacks and prizes being awarded

Who + What + Why

How are Hackers judged?

Based on their idea, their execution of that  idea, their code, their design, and their pitch to the judges.

Why do programmers love hackathons?

They’re having fun, in a high energy environment ripe for creation, where they meet future collaborators and business partners. Hackathons provide hackers with a platform to compete and showcase their skills to industry leaders and find new friends and collaborators.

Who are these hackers?

Our hackers are engineers and designers who specialize in  various software and hardware and technology. Only creators who actually code are allowed to participate on teams.

Why do hackers participate in the Wallifornia Music Tech Hackathon?

They get the chance to interact with developer advocates of sponsoring companies. They can get press and industry attention, win prizes and meet industry leaders who can take their project and their careers to the next level.

What do Hackers bring?

Their laptops, phones, VR headsets, ideas and positive attitudes. The rest is provided: Food, fun, drinks, entertainment, APIs, mentors, and a marathon-like energy and environment..

How can ?

Benefits of a Hackathon ?

Hackathons are great opportunities for companies to see their technologies used in innovative and unusual ways, to issue challenges to create something new and unique, or to find a solution to a problem. The Wallifornia MusicTech Hackathon, back for the third year in conjunction with the Wallifornia MusicTech Conference, has borne incredible new tech merging Music, Blockchain, VR/AR, AI and more. This year's event will continue that tradition and bring new ideas into the Music/Tech space. Let these creative coders and engineers build something new and useful for the music industry using your API or SDK!
