Susanne Hollmann studied in Gießen and in Montpellier, and holds an academic degree in economics and Roman languages. She spent most of her working life in Brussels, starting with the International Organization for Migration, then joining the European Social Insurance Partners. In 2001, she entered the European Commission: during the first years, coordinating international trade relations; since 2004, working for the Directorate-General for Education and Culture, combining her professional with her personal interests, notably for sport and for culture. Today, she is the Deputy Head of the Cultural Policy Unit and she is in charge of the Commission’s work on Music Moves Europe.
