Audible Magic has been at the forefront of innovation in the field of audio and video content recognition since 1999, when it developed the first music ID system and today provides automated content recognition services to customers ranging from the world’s largest and most popular online platforms to tiny start-ups. Before joining Audible Magic, Mike advised several online platforms on intellectual property and licensing issues.
His early career was in the music industry, with CBS Records and Sony Music in London, New York and Sydney, before becoming chief executive of Sony Music Publishing, Australia. He also spent several years with the IFPI where he was Head of Operations, responsible for anti-piracy and licensing, and co-founded the record label and music publisher Timbuktu Records which was sold to Richard Branson’s V2 Music.
Mike holds an LL.M degree in Intellectual Property law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
